Kapitus vs. Credably 2026: Costs and minimum amounts

Credably makes it easier to qualify: The working capital loans require a six-month business lease, $15,000 in monthly revenue, a credit score of 500, and financing is available up to $600,000. Kapitus charges more (2 years in business, $250,000 in annual revenue, and a 650 score on its business loans), but goes much higher, up to $5,000,000, and adds lines of credit, equipment financing, and SBA loans. Both value their short-term products using factor rates. Choose Credible if you are a younger business that needs money quickly. Choose Kapitus if you are established and want a larger quantity or a broader product menu.

Our Kapitus rating and Credably rating cover each lender in detail, and all side-by-side comparisons can be found in the Lender Ratings Center. Figures below are from each lender’s website unless otherwise stated.

Who is behind each lender?

Kapitus was founded in 2006. On July 27, 2026, the company announced that it was “acquired by an affiliate of InterVest Capital Partners” and “will continue to operate independently” (PR Newswire). Kapitus functions partly like a marketplace: The homepage states that “you can receive up to six competing offers with a simple application” and that loans “can be financed via WebBank. The specific lender will be specified in your contract” (Kapitus).

Founded in 2010, Credably is based in Southfield, Michigan (PR Newswire). It describes itself as a “direct lender for working capital loans and merchant cash advances” and offers SBA loans, lines of credit, equipment financing, and long-term loans through partners (credible).

What each one costs

A Factor set is a multiplier applied once to the amount you receive: $10,000 at an interest rate of 1.2 means you pay back $12,000, regardless of the term. It is not an interest rate or interest rate APR (effective annual interest rate, the annual costs including fees). Since a factor rate does not change over time, repaying the same factor over 6 months costs far more per year than over 18 months.

Credably quotes factor interest rates of “as low as 1.11” on its working capital loans and merchant cash advances and says that “most deals incur a 2.5% origination fee” (Credably Working Capital Loans). The FAQ adds that merchant cash advances “also incur a $50 monthly administration fee” (Credably FAQ). “Dealers with excellent creditworthiness and financial strength” receive the lowest factor rates.

Kapitus sets business loan interest rates “through our underwriting processes consistent with federal interest rates” and does not publish an initial interest rate (Kapitus Business Loans). The revenue-based financing page includes an example with an interest rate of 1.15 and describes the product as “no interest,” “no fixed monthly payments, and no APR” (Kapitus revenue-based financing). Request the total repayment, all fees and payment schedule for both lenders in writing and then determine the APR.

Worked example: $45,000

Kapitus’ own example: $45,000 at an interest rate of 1.15 means a repayment of $51,750, which equates to a cost of $6,750. At Credibly’s lowest published factor rate of 1.11, $45,000 represents a repayment of $49,950; Add the 2.5 percent processing fee of $1,125 and the cost comes to $6,075, plus a $50 monthly administration fee for a merchant cash advance. These are not comparative values: Credably’s value of 1.11 is a lower limit for its strongest candidates, while Kapitus’ value of 1.15 is an illustration and not a minimum or typical value. None of the numbers tell you the APR until you know the term. Our guide to merchant cash advance costs, factor rates vs APR shows how to convert.

Who is qualified?

Captain

  • Business Loans and Sales-Based Financing: 2+ years in business, $250,000 in annual sales, and a credit score of 650 (Kapitus Business Loans).
  • Line of Credit: 2+ years, $180,000 in annual revenue and a FICO score of over 650 (Kapitus Line of Credit).
  • Have 3 to 6 months of business bank statements available. Kapitus says a business loan typically impacts your credit score through hard credit and/or reporting.

Credible

  • Working Capital Loans: 6+ months in business, $15,000 in monthly sales, and a credit score of 500+.
  • Merchant Cash Advances: 6+ months, average monthly revenue over $20,000, and a score of 550+ (credible merchant cash advance).
  • Partner products require more: 700+ for lines of credit, 1+ year for equipment financing, and 2+ years for long-term loans. Credible uses a soft credit pull when applying.

Choose Credible if…

  • You have been in business for less than 2 years; The minimum term for Credably is 6 months.
  • Your credit score is 500 or higher, but below Kapitu’s 650.
  • You need money within a few hours; Credible financing offers in just 4 hours.
  • You want the option to pay off a merchant cash advance early to get a 20% discount on the factor share.

Choose Kapitus if…

  • You need more than $600,000; Kapitus grants loans up to $5,000,000.
  • You want monthly payments or a credit limit of up to $750,000 for up to 36 months.
  • You want payments that adapt to your sales through sales-based financing.
  • You want equipment financing or an SBA loan from the same place, or multiple competing offers from one application.

Pitfalls to be aware of

  • Frequent withdrawals. Credably’s products are repaid daily or weekly, as are many Kapitus business loans. Compare the schedule to your cash flow.
  • The term is omitted in factor sets. An interest rate of 1.11 or 1.15 says nothing about the annual cost until you know how quickly you’ll pay it back. Ask about the APR.
  • Fees on top of that. Credably’s 2.5% processing fee and $50 monthly administration fee for merchant cash advances add to the factor cost.
  • Who lends credit? With Kapitus, the lender can be WebBank or a network member; the agreement calls it. Credably’s lines of credit and long-term loans come from partners whose terms apply.
